Microsurfacing process

The surface on which the Microsurfacing is to be applied is first cleaned thoroughly of all loose material, mud spots, vegetation and extraneous matter. It is essential to pre-treat cracks on the pavement surface with an appropriate crack sealing material prior to application of of the slurry-mix, if it is used for preventive/ renewal treatment. The surface should be swept clean by removing caked earth and other foreign matter with wire brushes, sweeping with mechanical brooms before the application process begins.

In the application process, all the components are mixed as per pre-tested and pre-approved mix-design most suited for the Grade of traffic conditions of the road. Next, the laying machine is calibrated for flow of all the constituents as per the selected mix-design in presence of an experienced Engineer. This mix is laid on the road in single step process using a special When applied on road, this PMB mix sets fast, builds cohesion quickly and allows opening of traffic within 1 hour of application.

Once the microsurfacing surface has cured, pavement markings, cat eyes etc can be applied as required.
